The Department of Psychology at Lycoming College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Psychology with a focus on Clinical/Counseling Psychology to start in August 2025. The annual 3-3 load (typical class sizes of 20-30 students) will include Introductory Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and two or more classes based upon the applicant's area of expertise. The ability to teach mental health and/or counseling techniques to diverse communities would be highly preferred. Potential areas of departmental interest include Counseling Theories/Techniques, Forensic Psychology, and other Clinical Psychology classes of the applicant’s choosing.

Lycoming offers both Psychology (BA and BS) and Neuroscience Majors and Minors.  The successful applicant will provide clear evidence of high-quality teaching skills, a commitment to liberal arts education, and the ability to establish a research program and supervise undergraduate research. A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology is strongly preferred, but ABDs in their final stages of completion will also be considered. Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology by August 2025 is strongly preferred, but ABDs in their final stages of completion will also be considered.
 
A successful candidate will be prepared to support inclusive learning opportunities and classroom environments in a small liberal-arts setting. Candidates should be interested in mentoring and collaborating with a diverse student population in keeping with the College mission to foster informed and productive lives. Teaching, publication, and service to the college are necessary for tenure.
