Lycoming College is hiring a Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish

With an opening sparked by a department member moving into the Administration, the department of Modern Language Studies at Lycoming College invites applications for a one-year full-time Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish beginning Fall 2024, with possibility of renewal. Area of specialization is open. We are interested in candidates whose work incorporates race, gender, and/or border studies. As part of the 3-3 teaching load, candidates should be prepared to teach language courses, introductory courses, courses on literature and culture, and advanced courses in their field of specialization.

Required Experience and Qualifications: M.A. required, Ph.D. preferred. Native or near-native fluency as well as demonstrated teaching competency in Spanish required. The ideal candidate will have sustained living experience in a Spanish-speaking country, evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching, a serious commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment, and evidence of potential for related scholarship.
